Heracles Sevastianos Nikokavouras

Ο Ιερέας Ηρακλής Σεβαστιανός Νίκοκάβουρας, ετων 31, με καταγωγή από τα Σφακερα της Κερκυρας, πατέρας δύο παιδιών, στην προσπάθειά του να σώσει αγωνιστές κατά τη διάρκεια του ΙΙ. παγκοσμίου πολέμου συνελήφθη και καταδικάστηκε σε θάνατο.
Ο Ίτσιος Δημήτριος, Βλάχος την καταγωγή, έγραψε μια από τις πιο ένδοξες σελίδες της Ιστορίας υπερασπιζόμενος την Ελλαδα στα οχυρά Μεταξά.

Ο Ίτσιος Δημήτριος -Itsios Dimitrios

· Priest Heracles Sevastianos Nikokavouras, originating in Sfakera – Corfu, father of two children, lost his life at the age of 31 while trying to help Greek soldiers during the Second World War. He was arrested and sentenced to death.
· Itsios Demetrios, originating from tribe of Vlachs in Greece, wrote one of the most glorious pages of history defending Greece in the Metaxa fortresses. Due to historical events like Itsio’s actions, it is said that Winston Churchill honored Greek soldiers by saying: ‘‘Until now we used to say that the Greeks fight like heroes. Now we shall say: The heroes fight like Greeks’’.
